School level debating
Our Schools Competition, which involves over 250 schools and more than 10,000 debaters, has been running since 1956. We also run a Junior Secondary Program targeted at Year 7 and 8 students, a British Parliamentary Debating Competition, primary school debates, and competitions in regional Victoria.
a 45-minute introduction to debating, given by the Training Coordinator of the region
a 45-minute group activity session, conducted by a DAV adjudicator.
Sessions will go from either 6:00 PM-7:30 PM or 7:00 PM-8:30 PM. Schools will be allocated to one of these sessions, and these allocations will be posted here in late July/early August.
Please note: These times only apply to the initial training round. For times for each debate, please check the draws page on the website.
Don't forget that each debate in Rounds 1-3 is also followed by a 45-minute training session after the debate!
