Welcome to the DAV Website
The DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate. It
is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for
adults and for schools across Victoria. It provides training and
resources for debaters, teachers and adjudicators.
Debate camp
In 2011, the DAV piloted a non-residential debating camp for students in Years 10-12. In 2012, the camp will run over three days during the Easter/Winter holidays. The camp will include matter sessions on recurring debating themes, workshops to improve practical debating skills, and daily secret topic debates led by DAV accredited trainers. Students have the option of attending the entire camp or any two days of the program.
Registration details will be emailed to coordinators when the location and dates have been
finalised. As places are limited, a maximum of 6 students are permitted to attend from each
