Welcome to the DAV Website
The DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate. It
is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for
adults and for schools across Victoria. It provides training and
resources for debaters, teachers and adjudicators.
Summer Debate Camp 2026
Running in selected school holidays, the non-residental camp promises to be bigger and better than ever before! In person debate camps will return in the summer break. The camps will consist of matter sessions on recurring debating themes, workshops to improve debating and public speaking skills and offer students the chance to participate in multiple debates and to receive feedback from experienced adjudicators.
Registrations for Summer Debate Camp 2026 are not yet open.
Students can register to attend the full 3-day program or one day only. The cost to attend will be $340 per student for each 3-day program or $135 for single day registrations, inclusive of lunch.
Novice program.
When: TBC 2026
Where: TBC
Who: Targeted at students in years 7-9, or those with little to no understanding of debating. Older students with limited experience in debating may apply for this program.
Intermediate program.

Where: 2026
Who: Targeted at students in years 9-10, or those with experience in debating. Younger debaters with high levels of experience may apply to attend (i.e., Year 9s who have debated in finals debates or have at least 3 years of debating experience).
Upon registering you will receive a confirmation email and consent form. Invoices will be sent on receipt of consent forms.
