School level debating
Our Schools Competition, which involves over 250 schools and more than 10,000 debaters, has been running since 1956. We also run a Juniour Secondary Program targeted at Year 7 and 8 students, a British Parliamentary Debating Competition, primary school debates, and competitions in regional Victoria.
Adjudicator Training
Each year the DAV seeks new adjudicators for the Schools Competition. If you are completing year 12 this year, then you can always continue your involvement with the DAV Schools Competition. Even if you haven't debated for many years it is still and excellent opportunity to become more involved in debating again.

Adjudication in the Schools Competition is a challening and rewarding way of making a contribution, and best of all, you will be paid $40 for each regional night that you attend.

In order to beome an adjudicator, you need to attend a training seminar and complete a written test by adjudicating a debate from a video.

The dates for adjudicator training are:
11th of February
17th of February
24th of February
3rd of March
11th of March

Sessions will be held at the DAV office (Suite 6, 87-9 Flemington Rd, North Melbourne 3051; Melway 2A K7). All sessions run from 10:00am to 3:30pm.

If you are interested in attending training , please email us or phone the DAV on 9348 9477. Training seminars will generally be held at the DAV Office, however it may also be possible to arrange a seminar closer to you if there is enough demand.
