Welcome to the DAV Website
The DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate. It
is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for
adults and for schools across Victoria. It provides training and
resources for debaters, teachers and adjudicators.
Each year the DAV seeks new adjudicators for the Schools Competition. If you are completing Year 12 this year, then you can always continue your involvement with the DAV Schools Competition. Even if you haven't debated for many years it is still an excellent opportunity to become more involved in debating again.
Adjudication in the Schools Competition is a challenging and rewarding way of making a contribution, and best of all, you will be paid $44 or more for each regional night that you attend.
In order to become an adjudicator, you need to attend a training seminar and complete a written test by adjudicating a debate from a video.
The dates for adjudicator training 2012 are:
Unless otherwise indicated, sessions will be held at the DAV office (Suite 6, 87-89 Flemington Rd, North Melbourne, 3051). All sessions run from 10:00am to 3:30pm, unless otherwise indicated.
If you are interested in attending training, please complete the form below (or email us or phone the DAV on 9348 9477). Training seminars will generally be held at the DAV Office, however it may also be possible to arrange a seminar closer to you if there is enough demand.
